This lively hand block print was first created in 1922, and features a stylized tree of life of flowers and foliage. Each color within the design requires several blocks, for a total of 46 for each individual repeat, and the print uses 138 blocks to produce just one full width yard of fabric. The pattern is printed with pigment-based dyes that fully emphasize the color variation typical of hand block printing. The colors include newer palettes of neutrals, cobalt blues and soft aquamarine, as well as an updated multicolored combination based on the early twentieth century document.
