This charming allover flower-and-foliage print is adapted from a classic French indigo resist textile document. The original fabric would have been created with a paste that was printed or painted on the cloth to form the motif, and then dyed with the pattern resisting the dye, in a process similar to batik. The casual look of the print, which features the typical dotted detail of a resist print, is enhanced with subtle printed texture and a soft metallic highlight. We’ve updated the look with new shades of coral, pale blue and flax, along with classic indigo. The densely woven linen ground makes this print equally suitable for curtains and upholstery.
